Volunteering – Give Us a Helping Hand

Roman Alcester depends on a band of volunteers to staff the museum and get involved in educational visits and special events.

Working for Roman Alcester is not a huge commitment in time. Typically, volunteers will do one or two of three hour shifts each month, welcoming visitors to the museum, explaining what it offers and looking after the museum space.
As well as meeting other volunteers from the town and surrounding district, the visitors to the museum come from all walks of life and from all over the world, so it is never boring.
Many of our volunteers are newly retired and looking for a new activity that does not involve great responsibility but provides new links in the community. However volunteers of all ages are needed, particularly those with practical skills who can make a contribution to the upkeep of the museum and its events from time to time.

If all this sounds too active but you would like to keep in touch with what is happening at the Museum, then you might like to note that our volunteers are members of the Centurions, which organises regular events throughout the year. You would be most welcome to attend those events , details of which can be found on our website Events page.
